June-July 2027 SoundLabs Summer Camps for Students aged 11-18

Sound Design Summer Camps
Series of One-Week Camps—June and July 2027

SoundLabs will offer a series of exciting, hands-on Sound Design Summer Camps throughout June and July 2027. Designed for creative students ages 11–18, each one-week camp explores the powerful connection between movies, music, sound effects, and storytelling.

Throughout the week, campers work individually and in small creative teams to produce original projects that may include short films, movie scenes, music, Foley sound effects, and other sound-design creations. Each camp will provide a fresh opportunity for students to develop their skills, experiment with new ideas, and experience the creative process from concept to final presentation.

Campers will explore how music and sound shape the emotion, atmosphere, and action of a scene. They will learn introductory techniques in:

  • Film scoring and composing music for visual media

  • Foley sound creation using everyday objects

  • Sound-effects recording and editing

  • Dialogue and voice recording

  • Music production and digital audio software

  • Filming, storytelling, and creative collaboration

With guidance from an experienced instructor, students can take on roles such as composer, sound designer, Foley artist, recording engineer, camera operator, writer, or performer. No advanced technical experience is required, although some basic musical or creative experience is helpful.

Each one-week camp concludes with a presentation or screening for families, giving campers the opportunity to share their finished work and explain how they created the music, sound effects, and other elements behind their projects.

SoundLabs Sound Design Summer Camps are ideal for curious and imaginative young people who enjoy movies, music, technology, performance, and storytelling. Students may attend a single camp or return for additional sessions to continue building their skills and creative portfolio.

Individual camp dates, locations, themes, and registration information will be announced soon.
